William Stapleton is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and University of Michigan Law School. He has over 30 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts throughout the Midwest. Mr. Stapleton advises and conducts litigation for a wide range of corporate and non-profit clients on a wide range of legal matters, including environmental issues, contract disputes, real estate, purchase and sale of assets and personnel issues. He has also authored several texts and articles on environmental law and litigation techniques.
One focus of Mr. Stapleton’s practice is insurance coverage litigation, with an emphasis on coverage for pollution and environmental claims. He has successfully obtained millions of dollars in insurance benefits for his clients, ranging from homeowners with toxic substances in their homes to municipalities and corporations with multi-million dollar environmental cleanup liabilities. Mr. Stapleton is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and was named a Super Lawyer in 2010.
Mr. Stapleton has been active in many community service organizations, including those providing services for addiction treatment, the elderly and the Ann Arbor Public Schools.
