Bruce T. Wallace is Hooper Hathaway’s senior litigator. Hooper Hathaway’s litigation department, which he has built over the past 30 years, comprises the majority of the firm’s attorneys, each of whom has extensive experience in major litigation throughout the United States. Under his leadership, the litigation department emphasizes aggressive strategies to win prompt disposition of difficult disputes and creative use of alternative techniques including arbitration, mediation, and facilitation where appropriate, with the goal of reaching the most economical result by the most expedited available measures.

Mr. Wallace has obtained successful trial results in lawsuits spanning contract disputes, environmental, employment, securities, trade secrets, personal injury, defamation, unfair competition, antitrust, banking, uniform commercial code, class actions, and complex commercial and business torts.

As prevailing counsel in numerous summary judgment and appellate decisions, and as general counsel to a variety of corporate and non-profit clients, Mr. Wallace’s roles as litigator and counselor involve many different industries and public and private entities throughout southeastern Michigan and elsewhere.

Mr. Wallace is the author of numerous articles on various legal topics, as well as books on environmental litigation and discovery practice. He is a frequent lecturer at the University of Michigan, Wayne State and other law schools. Mr. Wallace was an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1970. He is A V rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is annually recognized in Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers.

Mr. Wallace regularly serves on the boards of charitable foundations and nonprofit organizations.He is currently on the Board of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters and is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Wildlife Federation.
