Marta Manildi provides estate planning, estate settlement, and trust administration services to our clients. Drawing on an array of planning devices, and with sensitivity to clients’ personal, family, and business goals, Marta advises clients both large and small with such diverse concerns as business succession planning, transfer tax minimization (estate taxes, gift taxes, and generation skipping transfer taxes), planning with retirement accounts, and charitable giving planning. She also helps clients plan for special circumstances, such as needs associated with aging and with disability or other special needs. Marta advises trustees and guardians on techniques for administration and distributions that protect the interests of a special-needs beneficiary or ward. And because she also has deep experience in litigation, Marta handles probate court matters including estate settlements, disputes relating to wills and trusts, and representation of guardians and conservators.

Marta is a seasoned lawyer, having received her law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1979. Her BA is from the University of Michigan, With Distinction, 1975. She has also completed the coursework required for a Masters of Law degree in Taxation at Wayne State University Law School. Before concentrating in the estate planning area, Marta had significant experience in business transactions, contracts and intellectual property licenses, and litigation. Marta is admitted to practice in Michigan and in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, the Sixth and Eighth Federal Circuit Courts, and many federal district courts around the country.

Marta is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She has been named to Michigan Super Lawyers in 2006 – 2011, and to Best Lawyers in America in 2007 – 2011.

Marta is also active in community affairs, and is currently serving as President of the Ann Arbor Housing Commission Board of Commissioners.
