Ms. Hanson earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University and her J.D. from Vermont Law School. While at Vermont Law School, Ms. Hanson was the managing editor of the Vermont Law Review and published a law review note on animal welfare standards. Ms. Hanson also taught a class on legal writing to first-year law students and worked with the legal writing department as a teaching assistant in advanced writing courses.
While earning her law degree, Ms. Hanson served as Vice President for the Barristers Book Store Board of Directors, a non-profit organization. She also served as an executive board member of the Vermont Law School Moot Court Advisory Board, where she participated in the Debevoise Moot Court Competition at Vermont Law School. Ms. Hanson sharpened her skills working with clients, both locally and nationally, as an Advanced Student Attorney in a non-profit legal clinic at Vermont Law School.
Since Ms. Hanson’s admission to the bar in 2018, she has focused her practice on civil litigation, working side-by-side with her clients in various civil matters in both state and federal courts. Ms. Hanson is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Association of Justice. Ms. Hanson is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court - Eastern District of Michigan and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
