Ken Thomson joined Hooper Hathaway in 2007. Since joining Hooper Hathaway, Mr. Thomson has advised clients on a variety of topics from real estate transactions to employment discrimination to business formations and mergers. His primary areas of practice are in business, construction, litigation and real estate law. He assists entrepreneurs in forming business entities and advices businesses on a wide range of legal matters. In addition, Mr. Thomson works with clients on various issues involved in real estate transactions such as purchase agreements, commercial and residential leases, property tax appeals and an assortment of construction law subjects from both the consumer and industry standpoints.
Mr. Thomson earned dual degrees from the University of Michigan in 2006, completing the Juris Doctor program at Michigan Law School while receiving a Master of Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Immediately prior to graduate school, Mr. Thomson earned a Bachelor of Arts, also from the University of Michigan, with majors in history and political science and a minor in philosophy. Mr. Thomson is admitted to practice in all Michigan State courts and the federal court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Mr. Thomson also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ann Arbor Civic Theatre and Creative Change Educational Solutions and is a current and founding member of the Next Generation Philanthropists, an organization affiliated with the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.
