Hooper Hathaway welcomes Marta Manildi and Christopher Taylor

Hooper Hathaway has expanded its Commercial and Estate Planning practices with the addition of two partners – Christopher Taylor and Marta Manildi.

Christopher Taylor is a cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School (1997) where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Law Review. After working for several years in the Corporate Department of the Boston law firm of Ropes & Gray, Taylor returned to Ann Arbor, where he has represented a wide variety of commercial clients including start-ups, Fortune 100 manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, medical clinics, e-commerce providers, consultants, software developers, service providers, film producers, television and radio stations, and record labels.  In addition to his experience with broad issues of contract and corporate law, Taylor’s practice has a special emphasis on software, hi-tech, and intellectual property-based companies.  In addition to his legal practice, Taylor is deeply active in the Ann Arbor community.  He is currently serving his second term on Ann Arbor City Council and sits on the Board of Directors of 826michgan.
Marta Manildi is a 1979, cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.  Manildi has represented clients in Ann Arbor for nearly thirty years.  Her practice emphasizes estate planning, estate settlement, and trust administration services. She advises clients both large and small with such diverse concerns as business succession planning, transfer tax minimization, planning with retirement accounts, and charitable giving planning. Manildi also helps clients plan for special circumstances, such as needs associated with aging and with disability or other special needs. She advises trustees and guardians on techniques for administration and distributions that protect the interests of a special-needs beneficiary or ward, and because she also has deep experience in litigation, Manildi handles probate court matters including estate settlements, disputes relating to wills and trusts, and representation of guardians and conservators.
